A.P Ms.Mackienze English 11 4November 2010 Addiction review: (claim) Addiction seems to be more of a problem in teenagers because high school and middle school is becoming more of party life. The pressure of getting good grades and being obedient to your parents becomes overwhelming and drugs and alcohol seems to be an excuse or an escape. (evidence) When the young man was being interviewed he stated“ It was a party drug I just wanted to try it because I didn`t want to judge it by its name. I wanted to try it for my own opinion” with the young girl the reason why she was omitted into rehab was because of (weed) and alcohol abuse. She said “ when I came back to school people made me feel silly for going to a rehab, but I knew I needed to change. . With the people who got me into smoking and the friends I had around me when I would smoke I knew I had to get rid of them. I should have no more contact with them. Then I decided to leave Arvada West to change my life for the better and now my life is great I have good grades and I’ve stayed in school.” (logos) There are marijuana stores everywhere, people can grow or get a medical marijuana license.. Marijuana is so easy to get a hold of for us young adults. (reasoning) on http://www.justice.gov/dea/concern/marijuana.html it tells you that marijuana has long term and short term effects . There is also data charts that show you the increasing domestic violence. So marijuana is easy for high school students to get there had on this drug, also I’ve been able to talk to varies people and they had offered me this drug.
J. V. Ms. MacKenzie English 11 9 November 2010 Addiction Critical Review No one can deny that substance abuse is not a problem in today’s society. Everyone in Arvada West has had a run in with some substance whether it was their own experience, a family member, or a friend. The authors of this documentary asked if substances were easily accessible. Both people interviewed replied that it was uncannily easy to obtain illegal substances. But by making substances illegal makes teenagers want to have them all the more. In European countries the average legal drinking age is 16 years old and in those countries they have less substance related accidents. These kids know the responsibility of drinking at such a young age making them more responsible for their actions. America needs to teach their kids these same responsibilities and be appropriate role models for their children. By teaching the coming generations the same way as the European kids have been taught we will have less accidents and a more responsible, respectful America, by extension a better world. Now Europe isn’t perfect and neither is America. But if we want to save children’s lives then we need to make them smarter common sense wise. By changing the laws around substances there will be the initial outburst of accidents but once society gets over the newness the responsibility will come into play. America needs to change the laws to save lives.
drug addiction is a problem weather its an addiction to marijuana or cocain. when addicted to a substance you find yourself wanting, craving, even so far as needing the substance to function. drugs are a huge problem in society around the world and most likely will continue to be a problem for a long time. there are places to go that help you give up and stay away from drugs but people addicted often make excucess. this video did a really good job proving that drugs are very bad for you.the interviews were eye opening and convinced me that ultimatly drugs can and will ruin many if not all aspects of your life. a lot of thought went into this video and it shows through good dialouge and great visuals.
In the documentary about addiction the claim was that getting addicted to drugs as a teen can ruin your life and it can happen easily. Their interviews provide the evidence for the claim because they have people telling their personal stories about addiction, and how it effected their lifes in negitive ways. one of the poeple interviewed said that he started going drugs as party drugs but then they started taking over his life. In the documentary they used pathos because of the personal stories, that you can make easy connections to, and they used logos because they told statistics about teenage drug use.
